Six-member UAE team for European Open Championship in Italy
A strong six-member UAE endurance team lead by Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum will be taking part in the 2009 FEI Open Meydan City European Endurance Championship, which will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2009, in Assissi, Italy. Meydan City, a part of the Meydan Group developments from Dubai, is the sponsors of this 160-km endurance ride which will be run in six phases. The six members and the horses are as follows: 1. Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, (Spenda Crest Kamouflage, 12-year old Chestnut Gelding, Al Aasfa Ltd) 2. Sheikh Abdullah bin Faisal Al Qassimi (Castlebar Sobia, 12-year old Chestnut Gelding, Sheikh Faisal bin Saqr Al Qasimi) 3. Mubarak Khalifa bin Shafya (Koum Des Jamets, 11-year-old Chestnut Gelding, Al Asafa Ltd) 4. Sultan bin Sulayem (Maddiran, 12-year old Chestnut Gelding, Al Asafa Ltd) 5. Mohammed Ahmad Ali Al Subose (Kaysand Farrazah, 13-year old Grey Gelding, Al Asafa Ltd) 6. Ahmed Salem Ali Sultan Al Subose (Kumait {Kevin De Narthoux}, 12-year old Chestnut Gelding, Sheikh Faisal bin Saqr Al Qassimi. Taleb Dhaher Al Muhairi, Secretary General of the Emirates Equestrian Federation, will be on attendance along with several UAE dignitaries, Sheikhs and officials. Chef d'Equipe for the UAE team is Ali Moosa Al Khameri and Dr.Mario C. Guglieimone is the assisting veterinarian. As many as 106 endurance riders from 25 countries are taking part in this ride which will feature riders from all continents.
