FEI courses for equestrian veterinarians
The Dubai Equine Hospital is conducting FEI veterinarians' courses for doctors involved in the equestrian discipline of endurance, show jumping, dressage and eventing. The courses, to be held on October 9 and 10, 2009, at the Dubai Equine Hospital premises, are conducted in cooperation with the FEI and the Emirates Equestrian Federation. The course for endurance veterinarians which will be conducted by Dr. James Bryant from the Dubai Equine Hospital is open to all Group VII National Federations and will be held on Friday, October 9. The course of veterinarians will be held on Saturday, October 10 and is being directed by Dr. John McEwen, Director, Veterinary Committee, FEI. Participation fee for both the courses together will be $ 150 and those who are only interested in participating in individual course can do so by paying $ 100. Registration will begin on Friday at the Dubai Equine Hospital at 8 am Participants should make their own arrangements for accommodation, transport and meals. Some of the topics which will come under discussion include FEI, its structure and functions, role of veterinary officials at international competitions, provision for emergencies, medication issues, and MCP testing procedure. More than 50 veterinary doctors from different countries have already registered their names.
