Jumping season starts in the UAE
The show jumping championships for the season kick started on October 9, 2009 at the Sharjah Equestrian Club and was held for two days. In the main feature of the two-day event, Class 5: B1, A2 (One Round with Jump-Off, Two sections), Mohammed Ghanem Al Hajiri from Sharjah Equestrian Club won the first and the fourth places in 28.33 and 31.24 seconds respectively. He was riding Chiquitta and Shakira 94. Second place in this category went to Ahmed Ali Al Junaibi from the Emirates Heritage Club, whose timing was 29.90 seconds. He was riding Picobello Wodeina. Third place went to Arif Mohammed Al Ahli (Melodie, Emirates Equestrian centre, 31.17 seconds). In Section B1, Sultan Saif bin Dhahi from Emirates Equestrian Centre finished first riding Atlanta (31.16 seconds). Second, third and fourth places went to jumpers from the Sharjah Equestrian Club Sheikh Ali bin Abdullah Al Qassimi (Tisanto, 32.18 seconds), Abdul Rahman S. Ka'abi, Feline S, 32.49 seconds) and Nadia Abdul Aziz Taryam (Belise, 31.94 seconds). In Class 4: Open Class (One Round Against the clock), Waste Shamdeen from Ajman emerged victorious riding Odyssee (46.56 seconds). Saif Sultan bin Dhabi from the Emirates Equestrian Centre managed to clinch both the second and the third places (49.76 and 49.68 seconds respectively). Other featured events included events for category 1, 2, 3 and 4 riders. The event was organized by the Emirates Equestrian Federation in cooperation with the Sharjah equestrian Club. The Emirates Equestrian Federation organizes show jumping activities every weekend from October to May during the cooler months of the year in different venues in the emirates of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman to familiarize the jumpers to different arenas and also to attract the jumping enthusiasts.
