Bangladeshi rider wins endurance Ride for private owners
As many as 32 endurance riders had a mass start on Saturday, November 21, 2009, vying for the UAE Endurance Cup at the Bou Theib Endurance Village, Al Khatem, Abu Dhabi. The CEN 120-km UAE Endurance Cup for Horses Owned by Private Owners took off at the Endurance Village at 6.30 am and was run in five phases of 30km, 30km, 24 km, 20km and 16 km respectively. Bangladeshi rider Narayan Singh Dungar Singh from the Al Ain Endurance Stables finished in the first place riding Al Marek. He completed the ride in 05:49:51 seconds riding on an average speed of 20.58 kmph. Second place went to Ahmed Lai Amer Omer Al Hadrami from Ahli Club who partnered Rowallan Shanty. He clocked 05:49:51 seconds, just a second more than the first placed winner and his average speed was 202.579 seconds. Third place went to Abdul Jalil Khalid Mohammed Khalil who was riding Zaeen from Al Giyad Stables. He completed the distance in 06:15:51 seconds on an average speed of 19.157 kmph. As many as 13 riders successfully completed the distance. CUP FOR JUNIORS The day also featured UAE Endurance Cup for Junior and Young Riders which attracted a field of 42 out of whom 13 riders completed the four-phased ride. First place in this category went to Abdul Ghanim Al Marri who was riding JQ Beka from Fazaa Endurance Team Stables. He finished the ride in 03:47:30 seconds with an average speed of 26.374 kmph. Second place went to Mohammed Suleiman Al Marbouei who was astride Dona Juana from Wrsan Stables. He clocked 03:51:45 seconds and third place went to Ahmed Saeed Al Farsi whose ride time was 03:55:40 seconds.
