EEF at Dubai Horse Fair
The Emirates Equestrian Federation participated in the 2010 Dubai International Arabian Horse Fair, DIHF, which was held from March 18 to 20, 2010, at the Dubai International Convention and exhibition Centre. DIHF is under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and Chairman of the Dubai World Trade Centre. The exhibition was once again complimented by the Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship (DIAHC), a competition for Pure-bred Arabian Horses. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum inaugurated the Championship on Thursday, March 18, in the presence of several Sheikhs, dignitaries and senior officials. The Emirates Equestrian Federation which has been taking part in the fair for several years was visited by several people including officials, visiting dignitaries and others who are fascinated by horses. The Horse Fair is the largest equestrian exhibition in the region and caters to everyone in the equestrian world from trade to consumers. The Championship which was running for the seventh consecutive year was a competition for Purebred Arabian horses, showcasing their beauty, agility & heritage. It was run over 3 days culminating in the Championship classes for the most exquisite horses. The competition has been awarded "A" class show status from the European Conference of Arab Horse Organisation (ECAHO) in 2006. The 2010 Championship has been promoted to ECAHO ‘Title Show’ status; only 5 Shows in the world hold this prestigious award. The Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship is the most prestigious competition of its kind in the world. It is a beauty competition for Purebred Arabian horses, from the very young to the elderly statesmen of the Arabian equine world.
